Palpatine - Darth Sidious Rots

Hello again, this time I want to show you the Revenge of the Sith- Chancellor Palpatine custom figure (Office arrest).


Motivation
Hasbro released in year 2005 the figure of Palpatine Lightsaber attack. The figure portraits the character in his red robs during his encounter with the jedi masters Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin.
Despite the figure is well sculpted, is less an action figure (due to lack of articulations) and more like a statue with a mechanism that move the arm with the fixed lightsaber that gets actioned when you press the figure downwards (lightsaber attack). This make the figure complete static and more a child toy rather than a collectors piece.

Another inconvenient is the paint work: the color selection seems to go more in a pink / pearled rosé direction rather that in the burgundy/dark red like in the film.

That is why I decided to make a fully articulated version from Sheev Palpatine with a accurately paint work and soft goods.

Creative process
The figure is a kit bashed from the 2005 ROTS The Sith Evolutions Set Palpatine figure and the 2005 Palpatine ROTS lightsaber attack. The source of the second figure below:


I took the Palpatine - Sith evo figure torso, legs and arms and cut our the skirt and belt:
And combine it with the Palpatine Lightsaber attack Head, hands and overall robe:

The skirt and the primary robe were made from soft goods and the arms were covere as with soft fabric as well.
Since the head of Palpatine Lightsaber attack is a swivel joint I had to adjusted to fit in the ball joint of the other figure´s neck :

Finally I assemble all the parts together and voila!!! a fully articulated version of Palpatine:



Challenge

Despite was not a start from scratch figure like Serra Keto (I had not to much to sweat :) )I has its own challenges like fabric painting/ patter adjustment. Adjust the head swivel joint to a ball one and to fit the plastic robe to the whole ensemble and pin again the arms (the most difficult part).

But Finally I can say: I am the senate!

Star Wars Jedi Knight Serra Keto This is my first figure, well actually the 3rd version of the same figure: Serra Keto, who is the Apprentice of Master Jedi  Cin Drallig. Kit Fisto- Mon Calamari conflict during Clone Wars

KIT FISTO Jedi Master- Clone Wars Miniseries from Cartoon Network This time I wanna work on a new custom figure. As the title stated, this is a figured based on the Master Jedi apperance in the Catoon Network Miniseries from 2003. In this chapter Kit Fisto leads an army of Scuba troopers against the Quarren Isolation Link. Reference Pic: Motivation: In 2003 Hasbro released a figure based on this apperance. Therefore the 2 major issues for the collectors: 1. The head sculpt look ok, but it isn´t the latest and more "accurate" sculpt from Hasbro line-> I would like to have the Head sculpt based of his appearance in the Revenge of the Sith and not the "Baby Ajolote look" from the 2003 Figure above mentioned.
